Description
For Adults and Children (Ages 10+). 5% family discount for anyone signing up more than one person. Use code SIBLING. There are two Sundays available to take this class: 11/3 and 12/8 In this class, participants will learn how to use a gelliplate to make prints without a press on functional objects. You will be able to make prints on multiple surfaces using several techniques: collagraph printing, magazine transfers, and monotype techniques. Participants will observe the textures and marks they can make with the gelliplate and have the choice to create prints on fabric, paper and wood. In addition, we will learn how to create earrings/keychains from our gelliplate prints and combining them with repurposed materials. Participants will be provided with materials such as paint, repurposed/recycled materials, gelliplates. You will have the option to print on (and take home) several different objects such as fabric tote bags (they are green), wood jewelry pieces or paper and eyeglass lenses. You are welcome to bring your own materials to create prints/items to print on. If you bring your own materials, please make sure that your objects are soft (no sharp edges) and have great texture! Some ideas include bubblewrap, aluminum foil, a pair of jeans, yarn, and lace.
